MANCHESTER/VERNON, CT — A Naugatuck man was apprehended Tuesday after a police chase that originated in Manchester and spilled into Vernon.
Police said they received a call Tuesday about a "violent domestic disturbance" in which a woman had been choked at a home on Taylor Street in Manchester. The suspect was identified as 30-year-old Stephen Soboleski.
Police said Soboleski fled the home prior to police arriving and his vehicle was spotted on Taylor Street near the Vernon line.
Soboleski continued into Vernon and came to a stop on Brighton Lane, police said. Vernon police then joined the fray.
Police said Soboleski ran into a wooded area and was tracked down by Manchester canine officer Joshua Eastwood and police dog Camo at an "unsecured" shed on Meadowbrook Drive. He had a knife and was curled up on the floor of the shed, according to a report.
Vernon and Manchester police then took him into custody.

First-degree reckless endangerment First-degree strangulation Second-degree threatening Second-degree assault Disorderly conductSecond-degree breach of peace Third-degree burglaryCarrying a dangerous weaponEngaging police in a pursuit Soboleski was held in custody overnight. His bail was set at $100,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
