Description

MANCHESTER, CT — A phone scam has been circulating around Manchester that is designed to extort money from folks who have outstanding "warrants" against them, police said. The caller claims to be an officer from the Manchester police department and informs the person answering that an arrest warrant has been issued for him or her, according to police. The caller then requests money to "vacate" the warrant, police said. It's all phony, police said, while adding that anyone receiving such a call should report it to the MPD via 860-645-5500.
