MANCHESTER, CT — Municipal officials in Manchester Wednesday issued a renewed call for social distancing after the coronavirus "positivity rate" jumped past the 2 percent threshold over the past week.
It was 2.46 to be exact.
"Please remember to following social distancing guidelines ... wear a mask," was the message to resident on a Twitter post by town officials.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Manchester has had 989 confirmed coronavirus case and a possible 63 more, according to a chart released by Gov. Ned Lamont.
Virus-related hospitalizations in Hartford Country have nearly doubled over past two weeks to a total of 106, which is still well below the peak number of 495 in April.
That 106 is still nearly 10 times more than the amount of hospitalizations in August, state statistics show.
