Manchester Reservoir Levels Improving

MANCHESTER, CT — Extended fall precipitation have boosted the levels in Manchester's reservoirs past the 75 percent mark, town officials said. As of Friday afternoon, the levels were at 75.6 percent. Town officials cited not only the recent precipitation, but the "conservation measures taken by our customers." The continued, "Although this past year's average rainfall is still behind the annual average, our reservoir water levels have been steadily increasing in the past few months. As always, the Department recommends that all users continue to conserve water and repair any leaky plumbing fixtures or replace them with low-flow devices." Town officials said they will continue to monitor the level of the reservoirs weekly. Conservation alerts were issued throughout the summer and into the fall as water levels dropped to 69 percent.
