Hollywood 4WRD’s First Member Event is a book club discussion with Dr. Tom Insel! Dr. Tom Insel is a psychiatrist, a neuroscientist and the former head of the National Institute for Mental Health. He was also tasked by Governor Gavin Newsom to be his Mental Health “Czar” for one year, when he travelled throughout California on a listening tour to better understand the human toll of our fragmented mental health system. His book, Healing: Our Path from Mental Illness to Mental Health was published in February 2022 and has been featured in the New York Times, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal and more. Dr. Insel graciously accepted Hollywood 4WRD’s invitation to enter into a dialogue about the themes he surfaces in his book. Join us in conversation! You will want to read the book in advance, and bring it with you to have Dr. Insel sign it.
