Clemson University and Clemson Cooperative Extension host an in-person workshop on Hardwood Regeneration. This short course is offered to forestry professionals and forest landowners to expand their knowledge of bottomland hardwood management, particularly in creating stand conditions to favor the establishment of both natural and artificial oak regeneration through enrichment/underplanting. It is designed to provide attendees with information on regeneration practices in bottomland hardwood stands. Topics during both indoor and outdoor sessions will include site assessment, herbicide applications to control competitor species, silvicultural harvesting systems, artificial regeneration options, and potential cost-share assistance options.
