CARROLL COUNTY, MD — Carroll County Public Schools will close early because of the winter weather expected to hit Tuesday afternoon, officials said. About 1 to 3 inches of snow may fall starting in the afternoon in Carroll County, which is under a winter weather advisory, according to the National Weather Service. All schools will dismiss two hours ahead of their usual time Tuesday, Jan. 7. After-school activities are canceled. Any activities that are hosted in school facilities are canceled Tuesday as well, according to Carroll County Public Schools. Carroll, Howard, Baltimore, Frederick and Harford counties and Baltimore City are under the winter weather advisory from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
