KW Lakes Red Day 2022: Spring Clean up, Mulch and Paint Red Day 2022 we are partnering with Aeon . Aeon is a local property management company who creates and sustains quality affordable homes. KW Lakes is committed to helping at 3 properties this year! PROJECT 1 & 2: Chicago Ave. Apartments and Alliance Apartments are two Aeon properties just a half block apart in the heart of the Elliot Park neighborhood of Minneapolis. Chicago Ave. Apartments serves mostly families and Alliance Apartments serves individuals living in a sober community, many of whom have experienced homelessness. The Projects: Painting team at Chicago Ave. Apartments- three small vestibule entrances need to be painted, light fixtures cleaned and windows washed. The color will remain the same, but will freshen up the interior and give a bright welcome to residents to these high traffic areas that see a lot of use. General Spring cleanup at Alliance and Chicago Ave. Apartments- pick up trash, remove any leftover bunches of leaves and debris from the fall. (trash pickup is an ongoing daily activity but volunteers will look a little deeper to get the trash tucked behind bushes, etc. Some trimming of bushes may also be done as well. Mulch – Both the playground and much of the backyard needs to be mulched. Likely something like 20+ cubic yards of mulch to be moved. Planting Flowers- both Chicago and Alliance Apartments have flower pots that need to be planted with annuals.
