BROOKLYN, NY — A teenager was shot in the head outside the Atlantic Avenue Terminal during Wednesday evening rush hour, police said.
At about 5:25 p.m. police rushed to Fort Greene Place and Atlantic Avenue, across the street from Barclays Center, in response to a shooting alert, and found a 15-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the head, according to the NYPD.
First responders took the teen to a nearby hospital in stable condition, said police, noting that the injury is seemingly a graze wound, though the teen appears to be the intended target.
The shooting, which happened near one of Brooklyn's busiest transit centers, came shortly after an attack at 36th Street in Sunset Park, which left 23 people injured and rattled the borough.
Frank James, 62, the suspected subway shooter in the Sunset Park attack, was arrested Wednesday — just hours before the shooting outside Atlantic Terminal.
James, who is facing a federal terror charge, is expected to appear Thursday afternoon in a Brooklyn federal court.
As for the shooting outside Atlantic Terminal, the investigation is ongoing and no one has been arrested as of Thursday, police said.
