Description
SWAMPSCOTT, MA —The Swampscott Police Department will hold a special unwanted and expired drug drop-off event on April 30 as part of the Drug Enforcement Agency's National Drug Take Back Day.
The event will take place at the police station between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Residents can deliver liquid and cream medications in the original packaging to the police department between now and Sept. 30. Pet medications are also accepted.
Police also have a year-round drug disposal box for pills at the CVS.
Sharps and needles are not accepted.
Proper disposal of unwanted and expired medications is encouraged to keep them out of the hands of young people and potentially keep them off the streets. Residents should not flush or throw out old and unwanted medications because they can eventually get into the groundwater and storm runoff.
Anyone with questions on the event or drug disposal is encouraged to call 781-595-111.
If you have any questions feel free to call the station at 781-595-1111.
