Description
DEDHAM, MA — A regional SWAT team responded to a Dedham home Wednesday night after a report of a domestic incident involving a person with a gun.
Dedham police went to a Sprague Street home near 9:30 p.m. Wednesday after a person there called 911 to report that a family member had threatened them with a gun. The caller, his wife and a child in the home were able to leave safely when police arrived.
Thinking the person with a gun was still in the home, a SWAT team from the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council — a consortium of 45 police departments from across MetroWest and the South Shore — arrived at the scene.
But after police were unable to contact anyone inside the home, the SWAT team entered and found the house empty, Dedham police said in a news release. Police were still searching for the armed person as of Thursday morning.
