Here are the top five stories today in Denver: Denver's average home price could hit $1 million by Memorial Day. The Colorado Association of Realtors is projecting that single-family home prices could hit $1 million by the end of May in Metro Denver. Average prices for the same homes rose from $810,0914 in February, to a staggering $918,850 today. (Denverite)Denver ready to invest millions to improve homeless services from bonds. City leaders toured the Volunteers of America Family Motel that has been serving nearly 1,500 families, veterans that were experiencing homelessness from March 2020 to March 2021. (FOX31) Brrrr was it cold Wednesday morning or what? Denver set a new record low on Wednesday morning when the mercury dipped to a frosty 10 degrees. (9News) Black Hawk ups its game with Monarch Casino Resort revamp. The $400M expansion brings a new hotel, spa and restaurants to the mountain gambling town. The expansion nearly doubled the size of its gaming floor, added a poker room and increased the number of table games and slot machines. (5280)Colorado's new gas fee might be delayed. The new gas fee, which is slated to begin on July 1, was part of a 2020 transportation funding bill. The measure was designed to raise billions of dollars for transportation projects, those increases may be delayed as part of a proposed consumer relief package moving toward passage in the final days of the state legislative session. (CO Sun) Environmental News: Officials weigh emergency actions as drought fears increase. It may become necessary to reduce water supplies to users along the Colorado River, as this year's snowmelt is lower than expected. That, coupled with hotter-than-normal temperatures, the prolonged drought is shrinking the lake to a point where the hydro-electric dam may have to be turned off.
