Rex Benson is something of an eggs-pert.
The owner of Ol' South Pancake House, has been serving breakfast dishes for years. He views the recent increase in egg prices as only the latest in a long string of issues that have caused unprecedented upheaval in the restaurant industry.
"I mean, it's everything," he said. "We've had lockdowns, supply chain issues, price increases in all sorts of items, so the increase in egg prices? That's just the latest that we're dealing with."
The owner of the 60-year-old restaurant at 1509 S. University Drive said, for the most part, he is absorbing the cost of the increased egg prices.
