Press release from San Diego County Sheriff's Department: April 12, 2022 The following information is fragmentary and has not been completely verified. It is based, in part, on hearsay and is intended for early information use rather than being a formal investigative report. On August 9, 2021, thirty-eight-year-old Jerrell Lacy was arrested by the San Diego Police Department and booked into the San Diego Central Jail for the following charges: 666.5 PC Repeat offenses of auto theft, 496d(a)PC Possession of a stolen vehicle,10851(a) CVC Vehicle theft, 23152(f) CVC Driving under the influence of drugs, 20002(a) CVC hit and run, 487(d)(1) PC grand theft, 148 (a)(1) PC Resisting an officer and probation violation. The Medical Examiner's Office conducted an autopsy of Lacy today. The preliminary cause of death was Pulmonary Thromboembolic due to Deep Venus Thrombosis of the lower extremities. The manner of death is natural. Lacy's family has been notified of his death. Lacy was a resident of the City of San Diego.
