Tox-Away Day Set For Saturday in Evansville

By John Gibson, WNIN April 14, 2022 Evansville and Vanderburgh County residents have an opportunity to get rid of hazardous household items this weekend. The local Solid Waste District will conduct its Tox-Away Day on the parking lot behind the Civic Center from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Items that can be turned in include household cleaners and aerosol cans; motor oil, filters, gasoline, and anti-freeze; oil-based paints, solvents, and thinners; pesticides, pharmaceuticals, smoke detectors, and pool chemicals. Residents are asked to place items in the trunk or their car or a truck bed for safe removal. Items not allowed include commercial and industrial waste, tires, appliances, and electronics.
