SEEKING SUMMER WATERFRONT DIRECTORLIVE LOCAL - WORK LOCALThe Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department is currently seeking an individual to serve as our Waterfront Director for the Summer 2022 Season. The Waterfront Director is responsible for managing a safe waterfront environment on the Town Beach at Wasserman Park for summer 2022. This individual is responsible for coordinating the various aspects of the seasonal waterfront operations including: organizing and conducting on-the-job-training for lifeguards, supervising and scheduling Lifeguards & Water Safety Instructors. Responsible for ensuring that all safety precautions are practiced and rules and regulations are followed by all waterfront patrons. Performs rescue maneuvers, CPR, and First Aid as needed, and takes command during emergency situations. The Waterfront Director works under the supervision of the Director of Parks & Recreation.Minimum Qualifications:• At least 21 years of age• Current Lifeguard Certification from the American Red Cross, YMCA or similar organization• Current American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer & First Aid Certifications• Demonstrated supervisory experience• Ability to manage staff and handle discipline issues as they arise.• Ability to effectively & diplomatically handle the general public• Independent judgment & initiative requiredHours: The Waterfront Director position is 40 hours per week from Mid-June thru late August, 2022 with some additional preparation hours before the start of the season. This position is Mondays - Fridays only with no nights or weekend requirements.
