Driver Flees State Police Chase; Leaves 100 Grams Of Fentanyl Behind

CONCORD, NH — New Hampshire State Police are searching for a person of interest after a car chase on Interstate 93 in Bow and Concord, which led to the discovery of around 100 grams of suspected fentanyl. At just past 12:15 a.m., a trooper on I-93 north in Bow saw a 2013 Dodge speeding and committing multiple lane violations. The trooper decided to stop the car, but the driver refused and continued driving north, reaching speeds of 115 mph, Amber Lagace, a public information officer, said. "Troopers deployed stop sticks in the area immediately south of the Exit 16 offramp," she said. "The operator of the vehicle lost control as he attempted to avoid the stop sticks. Troopers managed to successfully deflate one tire in the process. The vehicle went off the road into the median that separates the mainline from the Exit 16 offramp." After the crash, the driver fled the area, running in the direction of Merrill Park on Eastman Street. A K-9 unit was requested but was unable to find the driver. In the car, Lagace said troopers found 100 grams of suspected fentanyl. "There is no reason to believe the suspect poses any threat to the public," she said. "Troopers have a person of interest in this incident (and) this event remains under investigation."
