HAMDEN, CT — After spending more than a year with the Hamden Animal Control, Bud has found his forever home, officials announced Friday. Bud, a beloved dog who was picked up by the animal control last year after he was left behind when his owner was evicted from a condemned house, was adopted last month. "We've been sitting on this news for awhile to ensure everything was going alright, but it's time to let the dog out of the bag...... BUD WAS ADOPTED ON MARCH 7th !!!!!!!!," the animal control wrote in a post on Facebook. "After 373 days in the shelter Bud is home. As you can see, he quickly and deservedly seized his new role as couch potato! We have no doubt he will be spoiled for the rest of his life." Assistant Animal Control Officer Mitch Gibbs wrote an emotional post on Facebook in February to mark Bud's one-year anniversary with the shelter in hopes that he would finally find a new family. Bud first became available for adoption last August. "A huge 'Thank you!' to all who shared Bud's one-year anniversary post, you helped to light his way home!!," Gibbs wrote on Friday.
