HAMDEN, CT — A kitten was rescued by the Hamden Animal Control Monday after being trapped under a deck in Hamden, according to police. Assistant Animal Control Officer Mitch Gibbs responded to a Hill Street residence on the report of a "kitten stuck under a house," according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said Gibbs found the kitten, which was trapped 10 to 15 feet underneath a deck. After approximately an hour and a half, Gibbs successfully removed the kitten from under the deck by using a "fishing net on an extendable pole," according to Smith.
The kitten, which is 2 to 3 weeks old, was taken to the North Haven Animal Hospital for medical treatment, Smith said.
