MINNEAPOLIS — The NBA has fined Minnesota Timberwolves guard Patrick Beverley $30,000 for what they call "inappropriate statements" made during a postgame media interview and on social media.
The comments included "egregious use of profanity," according to Byron Spruell, the NBA's president for league operations. The remarks came after the Timberwolves' 109-104 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers Tuesday at Target Center.
"Weak a-- Clippers," Beverly said on Instagram live. "F--- out of here."
In the official postgame news conference, Beverly said that the Clippers should "take they a-- home."
"I told you we were going to the playoffs," Beverley also said. "Y'all looked at me like I was crazy when I first said that. I f------ told y'all."
With Tuesday's victory in the play-in tournament, the Wolves have officially made the playoffs and will face the No. 2 seeded Memphis Grizzlies Saturday at 2:30 p.m. central in a best-of-seven series.
