Description

GILROY, CA — The city of Gilroy is seeking consultants to draft an environmental impact report for a proposed Amazon data center in the city. The city listed a posting for requests for proposals in late March, with applications accepted through May 2. The site, at the intersection of Highway 152 and Camino Arroyo, is expected to be a "last mile" delivery center for Amazon, according to the company. The delivery station would provide nearly 200 full-time jobs, the company said in a document presented to the city. The project, proposed to be built in two phases, would include two data center buildings. Gilroy City Council is currently reviewing the project's proposal.
