The Village of Skokie is now accepting applications for the position of part-time Water Meter Reader in the Public Works Dept. This position reads and records residential, commercial & industrial water meters on an assigned route; Makes minor repairs & reports defective meter remote devices; Occasionally checks and installs water meters and exterior meter remote devices; Responsible for maintaining accurate meter reading records; Must be able to deal pleasantly, professionally, and efficiently with customers; Some knowledge of the geography and street locations in Skokie helpful but not required; Must have valid Driver’s License and experience / skill using small hand tools; Physical requirements include frequent stooping and bending, walking / standing for extended periods of time with exposure to all types of weather conditions, year-round; Work schedule is flexible, not to exceed 20 hrs./week.
Starting pay rate $20.47/hr. Illinoi Municipal Retirement Fund & Social Security retirement benefits available.
