DUBLIN, CA — Feeling prepared for an emergency is a comfort not everyone has. Alameda County Fire is offering free disaster preparedness courses online to try and help more people feel a little bit at ease. Listos Basic Training is a two-day program for the Dublin community to learn how to protect themselves or their families through discussion and planning. The city said the program will teach people about: Identifying hazards and risksCreating a communication planDeveloping a family reunification planUtility shut offUse of fire extinguishersFirst AidCreating an emergency supply kitHome organizationEmotional support All of the training can be done virtually through Microsoft Teams. Registration for the May 11 and May 12 course from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm. can be done here. There is also still space for the training course on April 28 starting at 6:30 p.m. Personal Emergency Preparedness Workshop for Dublin is meant to help individuals, families and communities prepare for disasters by making kits and plans.
