Description
SYOSSET, NY — A massive fire destroyed seven units at a housing complex in Syosset overnight Wednesday, and sent three people to the hospital.
According to police, the fire started around 10:15 p.m. at the Hidden Ridge Condominium, at 212 Summit Way. The fire spread to seven townhouses on the property, causing massive damage to the buildings.
According to News 12, 20 fire departments responded to the blaze, which took more than five hours to get under control. Departments had to return a few hours later when a hotspot flared up again, but that was easier to put out.
Three residents of the complex were taken to the hospital for minor injuries, police said.
The Nassau County Fire Marshal and the police department's Arson/Bomb Squad are investigating the cause of the fire.
