** PLEASE READ ALL AND UNDERSTAND THE CIRCUMSTANCES BEFORE REPLYING** Hello everyone!! I am rehoming my Aussie (Australian Shepard) named Patches. I rescued Patches a year ago and like most people when you rescue, you promise to give them the best life possible. And I did. Except I had a flood in my house and moved back home to California. My current living situation doesn't allow dogs in the upstairs unit and I have no money to move. A little bit about Patches: She's anywhere between 5 and 8 years old and I rescued her from her foster and her foster rescued her from a girl who had her since a puppy and lived in a small room with her, her whole life. I was told Patches had never socialized with people or other dogs, causing her to be skittish and dog aggressive. I was also told she was neglected and went potty one time a day and didn't have many meals. Since I got her, her behavior and health have improved dramatically. She's a great dog if you don't have many people living with you, children, or other dogs unless they are small and large spaces for her to enjoy. She likes kids as long as they understand boundaries. She's a wonderful guard dog and I can guarantee you will always feel safe. She's beautiful and does the cutest things like flipping over with her butt in the air waiting for scratches. She loves hikes and car rides, baths, and even swimming (we used to take her to the lake in Havasu) and she deserves so much more than what I can give her living in a small apartment. She's very calm and lays on the porch sunbathing all day and doesn't like to be smothered. She will come to you when she wants hugs and kisses. She really just loves her peace. I need someone strong and experienced with rescue dogs. If you think you might be a great fit, please shoot me a text. I'm not looking for someone to just give her to. I want you to meet with her at least three times to see how she does and I want to confirm your house is suitable for Patches. She has a very sensitive tummy so I will provide a large bag of food, you can either keep using the same one or gradually change it. Before she leaves for her new home, I will take her to get booster shots and a checkup. There is a rehoming fee of $250-300 but is negotiable to make sure she goes to the right home and you are serious.
