Facilities Manager, Part Time First Congregational Church of Eugene is enthusiastically seeking applicants for the part time position of facilities manager. FCC Eugene is an open and affirming church located in south Eugene near the university of Oregon. In addition to weekly services the church also offers its grounds and meeting rooms to outside groups on a regular basis, including Summer camps, social support groups, and community meetings. RESPONSIBILITIES • Manage yearly budget and track spending on projects and supplies. • Maintain contracts for trash and recycling services, maintenance of fire extinguishers, security system, elevator, HVAC, pest control, and other business or facility-related needs. • Perform routine building maintenance and groundskeeping duties. • Manage custodial contract. • Efficiently communicate needs and expectations with staff, church Facilities Committee, volunteers, outside vendors, and contractors. • Identify contractors and seek bids for building repair or improvement projects. • Manage building and repair contracts. PROGRAM SUPPORT • Attend periodically the weekly Church Office Staff meetings to communicate and learn of upcoming facility needs. • Participate in monthly meetings of the Facilities Committee, reporting on building and project status, upcoming needs and projects, and monthly facility expenses. Act as the Church Office Staff Liaison. • Provide input on the Church Facilities Budget to Treasurer, Senior Minister, Budget Committee and Facilities Committee. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Experience using tools for repair and construction and possess tools to supplement those available at the church, as needed. • The ideal candidate has exceptional communication skills and is flexible and eager to problem solve on the fly. The position requires the ability to independently manage time dynamically, often switching from scheduled maintenance duties, to supporting events and directing volunteers. • A valid Driver's License is required. • Previous experience in facilities management or familiarity with Church operations is preferred • Please note: All employees of First Congregational Church are required to be vaccinated against the Covid virus to protect the most vulnerable in our midst.
