HAMDEN, CT — As the state reverts to phase 2.1 of the reopening plan, Hamden police will be "taking an active role" in enforcing the coronavirus restrictions, according to officials.
The phase 2.1 rules begin at 12:01 a.m. on Nov. 6.
The major changes that will be implemented and enforced include:
- Town restaurants will revert to 50% indoor dining capacity, with a maximum of 8 people per table.
- Town restaurants and entertainment venues, such as bowling allies, must close at 9:30 p.m. Restaurants can, however, continue to provide take-out and delivery service.
- Town "personal service" businesses, such as hair salons, barbers and nail salons will remain at 75 percent capacity.
- Event venues are limited to an indoor capacity of 25 people. The outdoor capacity is limited to 50 people.
- Religious gatherings will be limited to 50 percent capacity, with a maximum occupancy of 100 people.
"The Hamden Police Department plans on taking an active role in enforcing the aforementioned restrictions," Capt. Ronald Smith wrote in a news release. "Additional officers will be assigned to monitor compliance.
"The Hamden Police Department would like to stress that our primary goal is to ensure the health and safety of our residents. We respectfully request that we all work together in keeping our community safe."
