HAMDEN, CT — Trash and recycling collection in Hamden will be delayed due to the winter storm in the forecast for Wednesday into Thursday, officials announced Wednesday.
Thursday's usual trash and recycling collection will now take place on Friday, Dec. 18 and so forth with Friday's collection now taking place on Saturday, Dec. 19, according to officials.
"Residents are advised to bring in their receptacle bins in anticipation of plow drivers clearing the roadways, and to bring them back to the street for collection day," officials wrote in a news release. "The regular schedule for trash and recycling pickup will resume Monday, Dec. 21."
Additionally, the Hamden Transfer Station will be closed on Dec. 17, 18 and 19. The Hamden Transfer Station will again be closed on weekends until further notice, as extended hours associated with leaf and brush pickup program have expired, officials said.
