Exercise Equipment Field Technician needed

Jobs

Meridian ID

Description

We are looking to add another local technician to our growing service team. It's our goal to provide excellent service and create flexible work environments where technicians can choose their work hours, and make good money doing it. Pay per hour calculation will fluctuate based on your skills and efficiency, but most techs seem to average $25-$40 per hour after accounting for drive time, which for our full time techs averages between $750-$1,500 per week (due to the wide range of time availability and efficiency). These jobs require attention to detail and moderate troubleshooting ability. Our biggest concern is making sure the customer feels understood, with all needs met. Our support team can help you remotely as you become more familiar with common problems. There will also be a short training exercise and quiz to help make sure you're ready to work with us. This can be done on your computer or smartphone at home within probably 1-3 hours depending on how quickly you retain the material. Skills required: -Mechanical skills - must be able to do simple repairs such as swapping electric motors, changing belts, and assembling equipment.  -Electronics skills - must be able to understand DC power at a rudimentary level or better. We sometimes have to troubleshoot printed circuit boards by measuring input and output voltage, and we occasionally have to identify failures or weaknesses in home circuits (treadmills trip GFCI outlets more often than they should).  -Customer service skills - must be willing to go above and beyond to deliver value greater than our fee. Listening to and addressing all problems in a calm and methodical way is a required skill, and we often have to explain processes as we perform them for curious customers. Additional requirements: -Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current vehicle insurance. -Hand and power tools: including but not limited to: -Philips and flat screwdrivers -Needle nose pliers -Ratchets & sockets: 8mm-19mm and 1/4"-3/4" -Open-ended wrenches of the same size range -Allen wrenches: need 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 5/16, 3/16, 7/32 at least -Rubber mallet -T15, T20, T25, T27, T30, T35, and T40 Torx drivers or bits -It helps considerably to have a drill and/or impact driver with attachments for all the sockets, drivers, and Allen wrenches mentioned above. -Additional specialty tools will be provided for you. -Smartphone or cellular tablet capable of running payment-processing and job tracking apps. Dress code includes black, brown, khaki, or dark blue slacks or jeans; dickies or Carhart work pants are recommended. Black polo or mild-colored pinstripe "mechanic's style" shirt acceptable. Closed-toed shoes or workboots are required, sandals and open-toed shoes not allowed. We will provide branded shirts if it looks like a good long-term fit. Compensation starts at $25 (for jobs that should take less than 30 minutes) up to $250 for more involved, full day, and travel tasks. Your earning potential is only limited by your skill and proficiency; the faster and more accurate you are, the more jobs we can send you! To apply please submit a resume or well-written email detailing why you feel you would be the best person for this opportunity. Jobs will be submitted to you via our workforce app, depending on the availability you provide, and must be fully completed in this app, on time, while following all documentation and procedure requirements in order to receive payment.
