Saddlewood Stables is hiring one part time employee. The ideal applicant would be over 21 years old, have your own transportation and have a good work ethic. Horse knowledge is a must, therefore you must have owned horses or taken care of horses in the past. You must be able to notice different behaviors and not be timid. Duties include but are not limited to: cleaning stalls, cleaning paddocks, cleaning fields, cleaning and refilling water buckets/bins, sweeping and keeping the barn area neat and clean, feeding horses, turning out and bringing them in for lunch. You must be able to drive a John Deere gator safely for dispensing hay and cleaning fields. You must be friendly and have good people skills. This is a boarding facility so interaction with the boarders sometimes comes up. You must be willing to go above and beyond and take notice of things that need to be done. Remember it is very hot, so make sure you can tolerate the heat and lift up to 50 lbs. There is an option for extra hours on occasion. We also do birthday parties and pony rides where occasional help will be needed. Right now the hours needed are Tuesday 12-2pm, Friday 12-2pm, every other saturday from 11-2 and every sunday from 11-2. The hours can be adjusted a little bit, we can talk about that, so you must be flexible. Send me a message with your horse experience please!
