“Bags to the Future - Part 2022” A cornhole tournament to benefit the Fort Smith Museum of History Saturday, May 21 from 10:00 am-6:00 pm Join the Fort Smith Museum of History as we welcome participants on Saturday, May 21st for a fun-filled cornhole competition to benefit the Fort Smith Museum of History. Registration fees include an event t-shirt (if registered no later than April 24), an email ticket for the food trucks onsite, and competition in the cornhole tournament. The event consists of two different divisions based on players’ experience. If you’ve never thrown bags before, signup for the Tailgaters division and join us. We will have people there to assist in learning the game plus you have a chance to win prize money. If you have bags, bring your own or we will have bags to borrow in the Tailgaters’ division. We also invite all competitive players to form their own teams and join us for the opportunity to win the $500 first place team prize! Both divisions will have a guaranteed 5 games with the first 4 games being a round robin format for placement in the single elimination tournament for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place cash prizes! Saturday, May 21, 2002 The Collection Room @ The Bakery District 10:00am-6:00 pm 70 N 7th St Fort Smith, AR Two divisions of play: Tailgaters (recreational players) Entry fee: $25/each ($35 day of event) Format: Blind draw with a guarantee of 5 games 4 rounds will be random draw in which each player will be partnered with different players for the round robin portion of the tournament. Results of the round robin will determine teams for the single elimination tournament for prize money. Prizes: 1st place $200/team 2nd place $100/team 3rd place $50/team Time: Warm-up 10:00 am - 10:15 am Bags fly 10:15 am Competitive (if you have competed before in tournament and/or league play) Entry fee: $100/team ($150 day of event) Format: Bring Your Own Team Round robin for bracket placement Single-elimination tournament for prize money Prizes: 1st place $500/team 2nd place $250/team 3rd place $100/team Time: Warm-up 2:00 pm - 2:15 pm Bags fly 2:15 pm Registration must include payment on the website for a t-shirt to be available at check-in. This event is a fundraiser for the Fort Smith Museum of History. Founded in 1910, the Fort Smith Museum of History has been a private, non-profit, 501(c)3 organization for 112 years. We are the oldest functioning museum in the state, located in the historic 1906 Atkinson-Williams Warehouse right here in Fort Smith, with a mission of collecting, sharing, and preserving the history of Fort Smith and the region. Through education, exhibitions, programs, and outreach, we educate the region on the history of the area.
