Kopek Olduren is a new trio from Matt Sellier, Johnny Rusza and Zach Mechlem :: Fritz Pape makes mad oscillations Kopek Olduren Matt Sellier is multi-instrumentalist composer and improviser operating within the fields of both Ottoman classical tradition and contemporary electroacoustic music. He studied Tanbur (a variety of Ottoman lute) and Turkish makam under Ahmet Erdoğdular and Özer Özel in Istanbul and New York. His compositions frequently utilize systems of just intonation, and integrate elements of traditional musics into the language of drone, ambient, and musique concrete. He is also a member of the New-York based Javanese Gamelan ensemble Gamelan Kusuma Laras. Zach Mechlem is a percussionist/multi-instrumentalist, awarding winning composer for film and television, and founding member of local World Fusion trio, Mohenjo Daro. John Ruzsa has been an active participant in the Cincinnati Art and Music scenes for several decades. With a long standing interest in the study of folklore and ethnomusicology he has had the pleasure of performing with Drums for Peace, Mekala Kirtan, Mohenjo Daro, Sunnight, and Ofir Klemperer as well as appearing as a guest on recent recordings of Culture Queer, Why?, Ron Esposito, Ancient News and others. He collects musical instruments from around the world, and has had a long career as a glass artist and educator. FB kopekolduren Fritz Pape is a Cincinnati-based musician and composer. He uses an array of electronic and organic instruments, wrangling their oscillations into beautifully constructed soundscapes.
