Celebration of Dr. Betty Jo Gaines's Legacy - Us, the April Blossoms!! Update (Event Details)It's almost here! We are so excited to share the details of the Dr. Betty Jo Gaines Celebration event. Each registration includes an all-inclusive spot for yourself at the celebration Friday evening. Amounts between $40 and $100 are appreciated. If you are able to do more, thank you! This will help to support the event for everyone, regardless of contribution amount. We ask that you purchase your tickets by April 20th so we can better prepare. 1. Date and Time: Friday, April 29th, 6pm 2. Location: 2 M Street NE. The venue is conveniently located near the NoMa-Gallaudet metro station and there are parking lots/garages in the area. Street parking is a bit challenging - so we recommend Uber/Lyft or public transportation. This is a COVID-aware event. To protect the health and wellness of everyone, masks will be available onsite. We also ask that all attendees take a Rapid Covid test the day of the event and no sooner than one day prior to the event. And only those who test negative for COVID should attend. 3. Photographer: We plan on having a photographer to capture our time together. 4. Dietary Restrictions: Please let us know of any dietary restrictions so we can provide accommodations. 5. Tribute: We'd like to celebrate all of our loved ones who are no longer with us with a tribute at the event. It has been about 5 years since Dr. Gaines's passing - but her legacy lives on through all of us! We want to celebrate the gift that was and continues to be Dr. Betty Jo Gaines. Join us as we gather, remember, and celebrate all the work we've done together and the work we continue to do in all aspects of our lives. We anticipate a 2-day celebration - the evening of Friday, April 29th and the afternoon of Saturday, April 30th. Friday is the main event with an itinerary, food and drinks. Because this gathering is being cultivated for all those who have worked with and/or had close ties with Dr. Gaines, we ask that only the person being invited attends the Friday evening event. The Saturday event is open to all invitees plus 1. This will have a more relaxed cookout vibe. (Please let us know if you need different accommodations and we will try our best to assist.) In addition to celebrating Dr. Gaines, we'd like to celebrate all of our loved ones who are no longer with us with a tribute at the event.
