Description

Jim was at a high camp on Mt. Everest in 2015 when a 7.8 magnitude earthquake shook the mountain. In 2015 a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck in Nepal just 140 miles west of Mt. Everest. The quake caused a major avalanche on the mountain and killed at least 22 people—thousands more were killed elsewhere in the affected area. Jim was at Camp II, sitting on the ice and snow that could easily break loose with that sort of power, waiting for the next shock to hit and hoping to stay alive.
