Description

The Ride and Walk of Silence will honor all who have been killed in preventable traffic crashes on Denver streets. You are invited to participate in the 2022 Ride & Walk of Silence to commemorate the lives that have been lost to traffic crashes on our streets and to bring attention to the human toll of dangerous street design that prioritizes speed over safety. The Ride of Silence is an annual international event to honor cyclists who were killed or seriously injured on public roadways. As cities around the world, including Denver, have adopted Vision Zero policies, there is a growing awareness of the need to design safer streets to protect the most vulnerable users of the road. People joining the walk or ride will meet at Rude Park (near the intersection of 13th Ave and Decatur St) at 6:00 pm and walk and ride separate loops that lead back to the park. Then the entire group will convene at Rude Park at 7:00pm for a short ceremony. Event Schedule 5:30 pm - Rude Park (near the intersection of 13th Ave and Decatur St) 6:00 pm - Walkers and bike riders will depart on their routes 6:40 pm - Arrive back at Rude Park 7:00 pm - Opening Remarks 7:10 pm - Remembrance of Victims (Reading of Names) 7:30 pm - Final Blessing Please note: A limited number of bicycles are available to reserve for those who want to participate in the ride.
