SILVER SPRING, MD — Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) ordered most daycare centers to close by Friday, in an effort to slow the spread of the new coronavirus. The ones that can remain open: daycare centers that solely serve the children of essential workers. According to state education officials, 12 facilities will be open in Montgomery County during the public health crisis.
