Description

Candidates running for Ventura County Sheriff and District Attorney face off in a forum exploring social- and racial-justice issues. Sheriff Bill Ayub and VCSO Commander James Fryhoff will take questions during the forum’s first hour, moderated by Perry Martin, Jr., a professor of business at Moorpark College and former executive director of the Oxnard-based Community Advocacy Coalition. District Attorney Erik Nasarenko and senior prosecutor John Barrick will take questions during the event’s second hour, moderated by Frank P. Barajas, a professor of history at California State University Channel Islands. A coalition of community-based advocacy organizations is sponsoring the forum, including Central Coast Alliance United for a Sustainable Economy (CAUSE), Black Lawyers of Ventura County, Get Out the Vote - Ventura County, Santa Paula Latino Town Hall, Community Advocacy Coalition, Latinx Bar Association, Indivisible: Conejo, and Buen Vecino.
