Description
GROTON, CT — Groton Middle School has halted in-person learning through Oct. 16.
A post on the school's website reads: "Groton Middle School has shifted to full distance learning for all students through October 16, 2020. Students should not come to the school building. All students from both cohorts will be learning from home during this time. Students should log in to Google Classroom and check their school email and follow the Distance Learning Expectations."
The move comes after a student tested positive for COVID-19. A school official told The Day that the student had contact with "numerous persons" in the school last week.
The district is working with public health officials to notify close contacts of the student, according to The Day.
