NEW HAVEN, CT — A 26-year-old suspect, wanted on a charge of attempted murder, was arrested in New Haven Tuesday, and police seized guns and 40 pounds of marijuana from the scene, according to New Haven police. Joshua Williams was apprehended by police and members of the United States Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force at a home on Melrose Drive. "Williams has an active arrest warrant out of New York for attempted murder and was safely taken into custody," police said, adding that members of the department's Criminal Intelligence Unit and Shooting Task Force also were involved in the raid. Authorities seized the following items from the scene: 2 handguns with extended magazinesAn AK-47 assault rifle with extended magazine A bullet proof vest 40 pounds of marijuana 52 oxycodone pills Williams was arrested and charged with fugitive from justice, and he was being held in lieu of bail of $1 million. He was scheduled to appear in New Haven Superior Court on Wednesday.
