NEWTON, MA — Part of Needham Street in Newton is closed Wednesday afternoon due to a broken gas line, said Newton Police Department. Crews are working at the intersection of Needham and Charlemont Streets and residents are asked to avoid the area if possible. Newton police will update drivers when Needham street has been reopened.
