The second half of this month is just as jam-packed as the first half, starting with the in-person return of one of our favorite events: Art in Bloom! Read on for more details and programs, and don't miss the rundown of our library clubs at the end of this newsletter! Art in Bloom Origami Club for Teens & Tweens Ages 11-18 Scams & Fraud with the Better Business Bureau Adults & Teens Join us to sing songs and listen to stories! This story time will be held outside on the Lynnfield Town Common if the weather is nice. You are welcome to bring a blanket or chair to sit on. In case of bad weather, story time will be held in the Meeting House across from the library. *Please note that indoor story time will have a capacity limit and attendees will be let inside in order of arrival (no registration). Outdoor story time does not have a capacity limit. Story Time is recommended for children ages 5 and younger. Read to a Dog If registration is full, please email [email protected] to join the waitlist. Mitzi comes by fairly often, and anyone on the waitlist will get priority for Mitzi's next visit! Children Grades K-4 What's It Worth? Virtual Antiques Roadshow with Mike Ivankovich This program was generously funded by the Friends of the Lynnfield Library. Adults Bill Sano is back with us for another exciting music series! Join us every Thursday morning in the Lynnfield Meeting House from March 31 – April 21 for an exploration of the music, careers, and personal lives of 8 singers who meant so much to us in the 20th century. April 14: Rosemary Clooney and Frank Sinatra (and Michael Buble!) April 21: Barbra Streisand and Tony Bennett Registration is recommended but not required. Adults Slow Flow Yoga Yoga mat and/or towel suggested, along with a water bottle. Register with a valid email to receive the link to join the class. You will receive an email with login information a half hour before the class begins. Instructor: Tammy Syrigos Irrera This program was generously funded by the Friends of the Lynnfield Library. Adults and Teens Paper Plate Tambourines Ages 4-10 Online Safety with the Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation Adults Book Lovers Nonfiction Book Club Adults Watercolors Ages 2-8 Knitting Club for Adults Pokemon Coloring Club Ages 3-12 The Last Tuesday Book Club is the Lynnfield Library's fiction book group! Our April book is The Paper Palace by Miranda Cowley Heller, and we'll be meeting on the Library Mezzanine. Copies are available to check out at the Circulation desk. Registration is recommended but not required. Adults Show off your style by making some buttons. We'll provide some premade designs or you can make your own. Create your own by drawing or by filling out a custom button form. Using the form, Ms. Alex will help you to make your design come to life on Canva. Our button maker will be set up until 3:45, so stop by anytime from 2:30-3:45 to make a button. Registration recommended but walk-ins also accepted. This program will take place upstairs on the mezzanine. Ages 11-18 Mark your calendars: the Friends of the Lynnfield Library are following up their successful November dining out fundraiser with another opportunity to treat yourself to a stress-free dinner while supporting FOLL! Order dinner (dine-in or take out) from the MarketStreet location of Wahlburgers on Tuesday, April 12 and up to 20% of the proceeds will be donated to FOLL! Show the flyer (grab one at the Library!) to your server or add the word "FUNDFARE" to any item description box when ordering online. The Lynnfield Library runs several monthly clubs for all ages. These programs are a great way to explore your interests, from coloring to reading to knitting, in a low-pressure environment while getting to know your fellow Lynnfield residents. You don't have to become a "member" of a club in order to join–you're automatically a member by being part of the library community! Below you'll find a list of our current clubs, as well as details about supplies and meetings. We're adding more clubs and programs all the time, so be sure to sign up for our newsletter and check our calendar for the latest information. Adult Clubs Book Lovers Book Club [Nonfiction] Next Meeting: Thursday, April 21 at 6:30 pm, discussing The Splendid and the Vile by Erik Larsson Book Lovers meets on the third Thursday of every month from September through May on the Mezzanine of the Library. They read nonfiction titles which are announced on our Library Calendar and social media. You can get a copy of this month's Book Lovers book by visiting the Circulation desk. The Last Tuesday Book Club [Fiction] Next Meeting: Tuesday, April 26 at 6 pm, discussing The Paper Palace by Miranda Cowley Heller The Last Tuesday Book Club reads fiction titles and meetings on the last Tuesday of every month from September through May. They meet on the Mezzanine of the Library. Book choices can be found on our Library calendar and social media, and copies of the books can be picked up at the Circulation desk. Coloring Club Next Meeting: Tuesday, May 3 at 2 pm Coloring has been proven to help adults relax and unwind! Join us on the Library Mezzanine for some social time and calming coloring. Coloring pages and colored pencils will be provided. Registration is recommended but not required. Knitting Club Next Meeting: Monday, April 25 at 2:30 pm The Knitting Club meets on the last Monday of every month on the Library Mezzanine. Members bring their own projects to work on while socializing with the group. Knitters, crocheters, and makers of all handicrafts are welcome. Children and Teen Clubs Pokemon Coloring Club for Children Next Meeting: Monday, April 25 at 3:30 pm Once a month, children ages 3-12 are invited to the Children's Room for an hour of Pokemon-themed fun! There are different coloring pages and activity sheets to enjoy at the library or take home. Origami Club for Teens and Tweens Next Meeting: Stay tuned–check our Library Calendar! The Origami Club meets once per month in the Young Adult Corner. Teens and tweens aged 11-18 are welcome. Paper and directions for a variety of origami projects will be provided, including Youth Services librarian Alex's famous bookmarks! Latest Book Lists & Blog Posts Want to get involved?
