GROTON, CT — Three cars were broken into overnight Thursday in Groton Heights, according to police. It appears that unlocked vehicles were targeted. "The City of Groton Police Department respectfully requests of its citizens to please lock your car doors and do not leave valuables in an unlocked vehicle in open view overnight," police wrote in a Facebook post. "Our patrol division aggressively checks the City and its businesses overnight, but locking a vehicle and not leaving valuables unattended overnight in an unlocked car eliminates you as a target of opportunity to a thief."
