GROTON, CT — A technician based at the Naval Sub Base in Groton has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for sexually abusing a minor on base grounds in 2018, according to a statement from John H. Durham, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut. Chazzman Chung, 29, will also serve five years of supervised release. Chung was arrested on state charges in April 2019 of risk of injury to a child and enticing a minor by computer. He was then arrested on federal charges Oct. 17, 2019. He then took the boy to Navy barracks where he engaged in illegal sexual activity with the victim, according to the statement. Chung has pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of sexual abuse of a minor. Chung, who is released on a $25,000 bond, has been ordered by the court report to prison in 90 days.
