AMESBURY, MA — A North Shore man who pleaded guilty to charges of transporting child pornography involving a child between the ages of 4 and 6 years old in 2020 was sentenced to six years in federal prison on Tuesday. Chief U.S. District Judge Jon D. Levy sentenced Daniel Stasiak, 44, of Amesbury, to six years in prison followed by seven years of supervised release. Stasiak pleaded guilty on Sept. 23, 2021. According to court records, Stasiak was in York, Maine when he sent a video of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct over the messaging app Kik to recipients that included an undercover officer in Winnebago County, Wisconsin. The FBI and Winnebago County Sheriff's Office investigated the case that was brought to court as part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation launched in 2020.
