I am looking for fun dynamic people to join my care team. This is full time employment, $20 per hour plus medical, dental, vision and optional accident/sickness supplemental policies. About me: I am a 55 year old disabled gentleman who is blessed with an active life. I am employed full time with the State of California. Currently I am working mostly from home with occasional travel to locations within the Sacramento Region. I am fun, easy going, and I treat my employees very well. What I need: I have cerebral palsy, and I use a wheelchair for mobility. I need assistance with all activities of daily living (ADL) including bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming and eating. I have a ceiling lift in my bedroom and bathroom to assist with getting in and out of my wheelchair. No previous experience is required, as I will train you. I am a spiffy dresser, I tell the best (worst) dad jokes. I am a professional who likes to have fun. I am driven and passionate at work and in everything I do. Sometimes I need help with administrative tasks (emails, social media, correspondence) I am an amateur ham radio operator, and I like to program my radios regularly. (I will teach you that too!) Summer is coming, and I enjoy swimming in my backyard pool (also with a lift!) I recently bought an adaptive tandem bicycle and I look forward to biking around my neighborhood. (It is a bicycle built for two, so I will need your help. We'll be the coolest kids on the block!) I have a small dog, so you must adore doggie cuddles and admiration. What I hope you are: Fun. Helpful. Able to follow directions given in English. I have a slight speech disability, so if you do not understand me just ask me to say it again. Sometimes, we stay busy all shift, and sometimes there is down time. Feel free to bring a book, a knitting project, or your computer or whatever you need to pass the down time. This is a perfect position if you are in school and need some time to study. If you need a quiet place to study, we have a comfortable home office. I have a wheelchair accessible van, and I enjoy getting out and about. I am a mover and a shaker. In my position, I present at conferences, attend very high powered public events and frequently am asked to conduct state wide training. I enjoy helping others and supporting my community. This position requires that you have a valid driver's license, clean driving record and are open to driving a modified (yet not oversized) van.
