Press release from the Ramsey Borough: April 8, 2022 The Water Department is scheduling the fire hydrant flushing program for the weeks of April 11th, April 18th and April 25th, 2022. If the weather is unfavorable or emergencies occur, rescheduling can happen. Please do not place garbage or recycling cans in the roadways due to water running down the curb line may knock over cans or soak cardboard and papers during those weeks. Flushing times will be 11:00 pm through 6:00 am, a total of ten nights. Please refer to the Borough's website for updates of streets that we will be working on. Customers may experience a reduction in water pressure and slight discoloration which would be temporary, we advise not to wash your laundry if discoloration is present. The volume and velocity of the flushing may cause a noise or vibration in your pipes. If customers experience the above issues please run your cold water only from an outside faucet if available or a bathtub or sink something without an aerator for about five minutes or until clear before using. If the problem persists please call the Water Department Office 201-825-3400 ext. 234 or 237, hours 8:30am – 4:30pm.
