Here are the top stories today in New Orleans: According to a data analyst, the average response time for the New Orleans Police Department is just over two hours. The average time for emergency calls is a bit shorter, averaging about 28 minutes. This data comes in as NOPD deals with a department staffing issue, where the force loses an office about every other day. (FOX 8 Local First) With many parts of Southeast Louisiana under flash flood warnings, the Sewage and Water Board reported it has working pumps and turbines and is prepared for the inclement weather to potentially progress. (WWLTV.com) The body of a crabber was found in a canal near Lacombe on Wednesday. The St. Tammany sheriff received a call that a man had fallen into the canal that morning after a witness had seen a man crabbing off a bridge in Lake Road before falling into the water. His body was later recovered, and sent to the coroner's office for the determination of identification and cause of death.
