Description
GREENWICH, CT — Dogs are still not permitted at Greenwich Point after test results revealed that Distemper had been found within the raccoon population there. On Friday, a week after the initial alert, police provided an update on their Twitter page and confirmed that dogs are still not permitted in the area.
According to police, both the town's health and parks and recreation departments have staff working with the state Department of energy and Environmental Protection on a plan to manage the sick raccoon population at Greenwich Point.
The town has also contracted a licensed wildlife management group to help mitigate the issue, police said. Greenwich Police are assisting with this effort.
The ban remains in effect until further notice, according to police.
