Press release from The Joslyn Center: April 13, 2022 The Joslyn in Bloom Fashion Show Luncheon presented by The Auen Foundation returns on Wednesday, April 13 to the Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa in Rancho Mirage. This springtime favorite features a champagne reception, silent auction, wine pull, 3-course luncheon, and fashion show curated by Susan Stein Style. The show features community models in the latest fashions from local designers and high fashion stores in the Coachella Valley including Saks Fifth Avenue, Chrissy's, Margaux On El Paseo and other fashion boutiques. We are proud to announce that this year's local luminaries of the runway include Guillermo Becerra, Yvonne Bell, Linda Biggi, Dennis Flaig-Moore, Jerry Fogelson, Patti Grundhofer, Bea Keats, Gary Geske, Jan Harnik, Charles Huff, Jake Ingrassia, Barbara Foster, Keisha D, James Lindquist, Kellee McQuinn, José Mendez, Davis Meyer, Mike Monachino, Melissa Morgan, Terri Neuman, Jeffrey Norman, Kayla Perez, Barbara Rogers, Diane Rubin, Tracy Smith and Jonathan Wynne. Joslyn in Bloom benefits the programs and services of The Joslyn Center. This year, we are honoring Desert Healthcare District & Foundation with the Merritt and Penny Joslyn Award in recognition of the District and Foundation's generous support of local non-profits over several decades. Tickets for this dining and fashion show experience are $150 per person for VIP seating which includes preferred seating, luncheon and wine at the table, and $75.00 per person for general seating, including luncheon. The event will begin with a champagne reception, exciting silent auction, and wine pull for bottles of fine wine. The Joslyn Center has been an essential part of the local community since 1981. As a nonprofit organization, we provide programs, services and activities for seniors and older adults in the Cove Communities of Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, Indian Wells, and throughout the Coachella Valley. The array of innovative programming has been widely recognized as a leader in programming for seniors and older adults with offerings that help maintain health, vitality, and connection with the community. The Joslyn Wellness Center established in 2017 has been recognized as a Program of Excellence by the National Council on Aging/National Institute of Senior Centers. The current campus was built in 1984 through Community Development Block Grant funds and donations from the Joslyn Family Foundation and Penny and Merritt Joslyn. The 20,000 square foot facility is located on a three-acre site and is the largest senior center in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. All adults aged 50 and older, are eligible for membership. Joslyn Center is also the home of the Arthur Newman Theatre presenting entertainment, educational programs and conferences serving all ages. The Joslyn Center is active with the National Council on Aging, National Institute of Senior Centers, Meals on Wheels Association of America, local Chambers of Commerce, Aging Community Team, Office on Aging, and the Cities of Indian Wells, Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage.
