COTTAGE GROVE, MN — Officials in the South Washington County Schools system called off classes Wednesday at Park High School after a power outage in Cottage Grove.
"Our school and the surrounding neighborhood do not have power this morning," officials said around 8:20 a.m. Wednesday in a message on the school's website and social media pages. "Therefore we must cancel school today for Park High School."
Officials said students should check online for assignments Wednesday, while staff members will work from home.

The outage started around 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, and about 190 customers in Cottage Grove were still without power at 9:30 a.m., according to Xcel Energy.
"Crews are working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible," Xcel said. "Please continue to check back for estimated restoration time updates. Thank you for your patience."

More than 100 customers near Fleming Field Airport in South St. Paul were also without power, as of 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to the company's outage map.
